Disc harrow agricultural equipment
24''*5mm Disc Harrows Blade / Disc Plow Disc Blade
Basic Function
The disc harrow is used for breaking up the ground, shattering soil lumps and mixing crop residues into soil as green manures.
High Efficiency
Farm attachments are mounted to the tractor via a three-point linkage, and the entire structure is strong enough to perform well at high speeds on steep land.

A harrow assembly consists of concave discs mounted at regular intervals on a shaft. The concave surface of the disc harrow is generally spherical, but conical surfaces are also available. Discs come in either full-edge or notched-edge versions. Full-edge versions are simple to manufacture and sharpen, while notched-edge versions offer superior penetration and are often used for heavy-duty harrowing. The harrow blades are typically made of wear-resistant 65Mn steel or low-carbon martensitic B5 steel.
Best Selling
The center hole of the disc harrow blade is typically square, separated by a spacer tube. The disc is then mounted on a square shaft and secured with a nut to form a harrow assembly. During operation, the disc's cutting edge is perpendicular to the ground and angled with respect to the direction of travel. Driven by the tractor's traction and the soil's reaction force, the discs roll, cutting into the soil.
Agricultural Disc Harrow Equipment
A rake is primarily composed of a frame, rake assembly, a traction or suspension device, and an angle adjustment mechanism.
Some lightweight and small rakes are equipped with a counterweight box on the frame to increase penetration depth.
Wide-width rakes have foldable or collapsible wings for easy transport.
Traction-type rakes often feature automatic transport adjustment and manual fine-tuning of the operating position to maintain frame levelness.

* Available in a variety of sizes (typically 18 to 26 inches in diameter) for a variety of soil conditions and tasks.

* The groups are set at specific angles to ensure effective penetration and cutting of the soil.

* The depth setting can be modified for shallow or deep soil cutting.

1. Disc harrow: Made of 65Mn spring steel, tempered, hardness 38-46HRC, good toughness and wear resistance.

Disc Harrow Advantages: It has the advantages of strong stubble removal ability, good soil crushing effect, low working resistance, high production efficiency and low operating cost. It can fully mix the soil after harrowing, promote the activity of microorganisms and chemical decomposition in the soil, which is beneficial to moisture retention and improving sowing quality.
FAQ
Q1: How do I choose a disc harrow based on tractor horsepower?
For tractors with 20-40 horsepower, choose a light disc harrow (1.2-1.8m width, weight <300kg).
For tractors with 50-80 horsepower, choose a medium disc harrow (2.0-2.8m width, weight 300-600kg).
For tractors with 90 horsepower or higher, choose a heavy disc harrow (3.0m width or higher, weight >600kg, with counterweight).
Key reminder: If the tractor is four-wheel drive, you can choose a harrow that is 10%-15% wider (four-wheel drive has stronger traction); two-wheel drive tractors must be matched strictly according to the formula to avoid slipping and inability to pull.
Q2: What are the differences between “light, medium, and heavy” disc harrows?
Which one should I choose for my plot of land?
(1) Light disc harrows have thin blades (2-3mm), are lightweight, have low drag, and are mostly full-edge blades.
(2) Medium disc harrows have thick blades (3-4mm), are medium weight, and some have notched blades.
(3) Heavy disc harrows have thick blades (4-6mm, made of 65Mn steel), are heavy (with counterweights), and are all notched blades.
For example: If the plot is "wheat stubble removal after harvest + soil crushing after plowing" (straw 15-20 cm, medium-hard soil), select a medium-sized disc harrow; if the plot is "newly developed wasteland (hard soil + weed roots)", you must select a heavy-duty disc harrow (with counterweight).
Q3: My disc harrow is "jumping" (the blades bounce and fail to penetrate the soil) and "severely entangled with grass" during operation. What are the issues?
These two issues are often related to "operating parameters and field conditions."
Quick solutions are as follows:
1. Harrow skipping:
Causes:
① The tractor is operating too fast (>5 km/h, so the blades don't have enough time to penetrate the soil);
② The soil is too dry and hard (the topsoil is lumpy, causing the blades to slip);
③ The harrow group angle is too large (resistance increases suddenly, causing the blades to skip).
Solution:
① Reduce the operating speed to 3-4 km/h (for better soil breakage and less skipping);
② Water to soften the soil first (in dry fields), or use a light harrow for a shallow tillage pass before using a heavy harrow;
③ Reduce the angle (from 25° to 20°) to reduce resistance.
2. Severe grass entanglement:
Causes:
① Straw is too long (>30cm, not shredded before harrowing);
② The distance between the harrow blades is too small (weeds easily become entangled in the harrow shaft);
③ The working direction is aligned with the direction of the straw laying (straw is easily dragged into the harrow group).
Solution:
① Crush the straw (using a straw returner) to less than 15cm before harrowing;
② Adjust the distance between the harrow blades (loosen the harrow shaft nut and increase the distance between the blades, adjusting the distance from 15cm to 20cm);
③ Harrow perpendicular to the direction of the straw laying (for example, if the straw is laid north-south, harrow the ground in an east-west direction).
Q4: My disc harrow's bearings keep breaking. How can I prevent this? Can I replace them myself if they break?
1. Preventing Bearing Damage (Extends Lifespan 2-3 Times):
Cleaning: Clean dirt around the bearing seat after operation (to prevent dirt from entering the bearing and causing dry grinding).
Lubricate regularly: Fill the bearing seat with lithium-based grease every 50 operating hours (until new oil begins to flow out of the gaps and the old oil is removed). Do not use butter (it tends to clump and has poor lubrication).
Avoid Overloading: Do not force the machine to operate on hard soil or rocky surfaces (the bearings may be susceptible to impact loads and damage). Stop the machine and clean any obstacles immediately.
2. Bearing Replacement:
You can replace the bearing yourself. The steps are as follows:
Tools: Wrench, puller (for removing the old bearing), new bearing (same model as the original, such as 6205 or 30206), grease, and seals.
Disassembly:
① Loosen the bearing seat retaining screws and remove the bearing seat.
② Use the puller to grip the inner ring of the old bearing and slowly pull it out (do not knock hard to avoid damaging the shaft journal).
③ Clean any impurities and old oil from the shaft journal and bearing seat.
Installation:
① Grease the inner ring of the new bearing and gently tap the outer ring with a copper rod (avoid knocking the inner ring). Install the bearing until it is firmly seated on the shaft journal.
② Replace the bearing seat seal (to prevent dirt from entering), reinstall the bearing seat, and tighten the screws.
③ Add grease and rotate the ground wheel to ensure there is no sticking.
