Market introduction
Vietnam has a land area of 33.13 million hectares, including 13.06 million hectares of agricultural land, accounting for 39.43% of the land area. Vietnam's main crops include rice, sugarcane, cassava, rubber, corn, bananas, coffee beans, coconuts, oranges, etc. Among them, rice planting area is the largest, mainly concentrated in southern Vietnam, which can be planted three crops a year. In addition, Vietnam has significantly increased its investment in agriculture from 2020 to 2025 as a key area of national development, and will continue to invest heavily in the development of modern agriculture in the next five years.
In recent years, China has been the largest importer of agricultural machinery in Vietnam. Among them, the import amount of tractors, harvesting machinery, farming machinery, field management machinery, horticultural forage machinery, food processing machinery, agricultural vehicles and parts is relatively large.
Vietnam's total import of Chinese agricultural machinery in 2023 was 332million US dollars, accounting for about 30% of Vietnam's total import of agricultural machinery.
At present, Vietnam is strictly restricting the import of second-hand agricultural machinery, while China's agricultural machinery has obvious advantages in replacing Japan's and South Korea's second-hand agricultural machinery, which is a rare opportunity for Chinese agricultural machinery enterprises to enter the Vietnamese market.
