The North American high horsepower tractor market (usually referring to 180-600+horsepower) is the most mature, technologically advanced, and highly competitive high-end market in the world, characterized by large-scale farms, high intelligence, high reliability, and high investment.

Sales of tractors with over 100 horsepower: In the United States, sales of two wheel drive tractors with over 100 horsepower decreased by 4.2% year-on-year in the first half of 2024, a much smaller decrease than small horsepower models (with a decrease of 13.8% below 40 horsepower).

Four wheel drive tractors grew against the trend: During the same period, sales of four-wheel drive tractors in the Canadian market increased by 7.1% year-on-year, reflecting the continued dependence of large farms on high-power, high traction equipment.

Significant inventory pressure: As of June 2024, the inventory of tractors with over 100 horsepower in the United States reached 12544 units, which was at a high level, leading to dealers lowering prices for promotions and lower prices in the second-hand market.

The main reason for weak demand: Due to the decline in agricultural product prices, rising production costs

The main reason for weak demand: Due to the decline in agricultural product prices, rising production costs, and trade uncertainty, American farmers are facing financial difficulties and have postponed equipment updates. Deere Company even plans to lay off employees and reduce production of high-powered tractors.

The Steiger 785 Quadtrac, a "beast class" model unveiled at the 2025 Agricultural Progress Exhibition in the Netherlands, boasts a peak horsepower of 853 and a torque increase of 40%. Equipped with integrated precision agriculture technology, it is specifically designed to meet the challenges of large-scale, high-intensity operations.

The John Deere 9RX 830, launched in 2024, has a power output of 830 horsepower and supports autonomous driving and Starlink communication. It is currently one of the world's largest horsepower mass-produced tractors.

Fantawild 1100 Vario MT: A German brand growing rapidly in North America, this model has a maximum horsepower of 673 and comes standard with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and a three-year all inclusive warranty. Its resale value even exceeds that of John Deere.

Big Bud 747: a non production legendary model, equipped with a 1100 horsepower engine, tire height exceeding Yao Ming's, and a daily arable land of 4000 acres, known as the "Big Bull of the Field".

Tractors in the United States: The Midwest corn belt and the Great Plains wheat region have the highest demand for 180-400 horsepower.

Canadian tractor: Prairie provinces (wheat/canola), preference for 250-500 horsepower articulated/tracked type.
Mexican tractor: Northern export type farm, growing rapidly at 150-250 horsepower, benefiting from USMCA tariffs.

180 horsepower positioning: North American mid to high end all-around main force, compatible with:

1000-3000 acres of medium-sized scale farms;
Heavy load operations such as farmland cultivation, deep loosening, joint sowing, large-scale plant protection, and straw returning;

Match agricultural tools with a width of 6-12 meters (seeder, combined soil preparation machine).

Power reserve: Maximum torque ≥ 800 N · m, no need to hold the vehicle under heavy load, high operational efficiency.

Four wheel drive+differential lock: standard 4WD+front
and rear limited slip differential, strong off-road capability on muddy/sloping terrain.

Hydraulic capacity: ≥ 4 sets of hydraulic output, lifting force ≥ 7 tons, suitable for large composite agricultural tools.

Long term reliability: Continuous high load stability for 12-16 hours, with an annual operation of 1500+hours.

North America remains one of the most important agricultural machinery markets in the world, with a market size of $16.8 billion by 2025 and expected to grow to $21.9 billion by 2030.

Despite short-term pressure, the trend of large-scale land management remains unchanged, and the underlying demand for efficient and intelligent high-power tractors remains strong.
