Long Augers/Short Augers/Augers
Classification: Long augers are primarily divided into long and short augers. Long augers have spiral blades along the entire length of the drill shaft, capable of drilling holes up to 20 meters deep, with diameters generally not exceeding 1 meter.
- Long augers are typically driven by a hydraulic motor and offer high drilling efficiency, making them suitable for clay and sandy soils with low groundwater levels. Short augers have spiral blades only along one section of the drill shaft and have a lead of 2-6.
- Short augers can drill holes 2 meters in diameter or larger and up to 78 meters deep. They use the same soil-cutting principle as long augers, but they remove soil differently.
- Auger, 10-16 inches in diameter, 1.8 meters in depth, high torque, suitable for agricultural planting and landscaping

Tractor Post Hole Digger
- The Post Hole Digger uses an impressive one or two flighting design to dig deep into the hardest compact soil in any region.
- The auger and PTO assembly are held together using heavy-duty dubular steel stock that allows the post hole digger to remain stable under the most grueling conditions.
- Simply attach the post hole digger to any 3 point assembly or skid steer mount.
- Universal 3 point linkage fits 18-35hp agricultural tractors.
- The post hole digger are designed for rugged durability and economy.
- Augers are available in 6in.with replaceable cutting bits.
- Heavy duty oil filled gearbox.
- Shield PTO shaft shear pin protected.
- Packed in steel crate.
Augers Wide Application
It is widely used in construction pile foundations, photovoltaic pile foundations, light foundation reinforcement and other projects, and is especially suitable for batch operations that require fast drilling (such as commercial and residential community pile foundations).

01
Working Principle
An auger drill uses a rotating drill rod to drive spiral blades, which cut the soil. The cut soil rises along the spiral blades to the surface, forming a pile hole. Some auger drills can also pump concrete or cement slurry through the hollow drill rod, enabling a continuous drilling and pouring process.
02
Structural Components
The auger drilling machine primarily consists of a top pulley block, power head, auger, hydraulic boom, control cab, chassis, travel mechanism, slewing mechanism, hoisting wire rope, mast, hoisting winch, hydraulic system, and electrical system.
03
Long Auger Drills
A continuous spiral blade transports the cut soil upward along the entire length of the drill rod, discharging it directly to the surface. This achieves "drilling and discharging" without the need for additional drainage steps, resulting in extremely high efficiency.
04
Preferred for use
Long Auger Drills
Preferred for use in soft soils, sandy soils, and clayey soils with low groundwater levels, uniform geology, and the absence of hard obstacles (such as large rocks or concrete blocks).

Technical Features
It utilizes a long auger to inject concrete into the hole through the drill pipe's center tube, enabling simultaneous pile formation and adapting to various construction methods, including dry drilling and grouting. The power head utilizes a dual-drive, three-ring reducer, resulting in a large center bore, strong load capacity, robust overload capability, compact structure, low noise, and long service life. The pile frame utilizes a hydraulic system for automatic mast raising and lowering, ensuring precise and reliable travel, rotation, and alignment, resulting in high efficiency and low labor intensity.
Auger drills are suitable for a variety of geological conditions, including soft soil, gravel formations, and weathered rock formations. They offer excellent environmental performance, eliminating the need for slurry wall protection throughout the construction process, reducing construction waste and lowering construction site noise. They are particularly suitable for projects in urban centers and ecologically sensitive areas.

Long Auger Drills
The drill rod is covered with continuous spiral blades along its entire length. The blade lead (the axial distance between adjacent turns of blades) is small and uniform, creating a "long spiral" structure.
The drill rod diameter is relatively small, typically matching the borehole diameter (e.g., 300-1000 mm), resulting in high overall rigidity and enabling deep hole drilling.
The power unit is typically hydraulically driven, with moderate output torque and high speed, making it suitable for continuous soil removal.
Long auger drilling machines, due to their high efficiency, environmental friendliness, and adaptability to specific geological conditions, are widely used in various engineering fields.

The following are their primary applications:
1. Construction Pile Foundation Construction
Civil Construction
Used for drilling reinforced concrete cast-in-place piles or plain concrete piles in the foundation treatment of low- to mid-rise buildings such as residential communities, apartment buildings, and villas. Their rapid drilling speed (typically 5-15 minutes per hole) meets the needs of large-scale pile foundation construction. They also eliminate the need for slurry walling, reducing construction site pollution and making them suitable for construction in densely populated urban areas.
Industrial Construction
For foundation reinforcement of light industrial facilities such as factories and warehouses, long auger drilling machines can quickly complete shallow to medium-depth pile holes (typically 10-20 meters). This facilitates the subsequent placement of rebar cages and concrete pouring to create a stable foundation structure.
2. Photovoltaic Power Plant Pile Foundation Construction
Photovoltaic power plant construction requires a large number of pile foundations (typically 200-500mm in diameter and 3-8m deep) to secure photovoltaic mountings. Long auger drilling machines, due to their portability, high efficiency, and adaptability to open terrain such as farmland and mountainous areas, can quickly complete dense pile foundation drilling with minimal surface damage, thus complying with ecological protection requirements.
3. Municipal Engineering and Small Infrastructure
Roads and Pipelines: Used for drilling small support piles or reinforcement piles in foundation treatment projects such as urban road widening, sidewalk renovation, or laying underground pipelines (such as cables and water pipes), preventing large equipment from disrupting existing traffic and infrastructure.
Landscaping and Landscape: Used for installing foundation piles for large trees and sculptures in landscape projects such as parks and squares. The drilling process is quiet, produces no mud pollution, and does not impact the surrounding environment.
4. Soft Soil Foundation Reinforcement
For soft soil, sandy soil, clay soil, and other geological conditions (when the groundwater level is low), long auger drilling machines can be used in conjunction with grouting techniques (such as cement-soil mixing piles) to inject solidifying material into the foundation through drilling, thereby increasing the foundation's bearing capacity. These machines are suitable for projects such as small embankments and fish pond slope protection.
5. Temporary Support and Emergency Rescue
During small excavations (such as underground garage entrances and manholes), temporary support piles can be quickly drilled to prevent slope collapse. During emergency rescue projects (such as repairing a ruptured pipeline), foundation reinforcement drilling can be completed quickly, saving time for subsequent construction.
